My Last HEOP fordham interview

Wenseday April 7th, was going to be my last interview at fordham to get into the Higher education oppurtunity program. I had already been to 3 interviews, and with a state allowance for me to participate even though my families income is a little too high for the program, I knew this would be the determining factor for my acceptance into the program as well as the school itself. I entered the school unknowing of what would happen. WHen I entered my interviewers room, he told me that I had come a long way since our first meeting. He seemed like he didnt want me in the program because he was constanty stating that my 87 GPA wasnt very high and that my SAT scores were not very high either. He told me that they are considering me to the program because of the tremendous amount of respect that he had for my school. He asked me what I wanted to do, and I stated that I wanted to be a science major, which he did not believe because in my application, I was undecided. I told him I was sure, and that it didnt matter what he said, I wouldnt change my mind. He then sent me to another interviewer who was much nicer to me. She asked me what kind of medicine I wanted to go into, my favorite subjects, and extracaricullars that I would like to do in Fordham. We finished the interview with me telling her how Xavier has prepared me for college, with its rigorous course work, and unrellenting pace even as the year came to an end. I believe that the meeting went well, and we ended with pleasant exchanges. Hopefully I will be able to enter to program and recieve the money needed to attend the school next year
